Smartex was founded in 1999 to exploit new findings in the field of smart materials and industrial research and to find innovative solutions and products for the textile world. Research is the basis of our business in cooperation with international partners to develop new projects or to upgrade existing products. E-textile is the main field of activity: electronic textile is conceived as a new class of materials where sensors, electronics and interconnections are woven into the fabric.

Our highly skilled team mixes traditional methods of hand and machine embroidery with state-of-the-art computer technology. Every inch has been purpose-built with our craft in mind, featuring a soundproofed room for our embroidery machines and expansive pattern-cutting tables, alongside dedicated desks in our design and finishing room. Through investment in state of the art equipment, the studio is able to offer a wealth of bespoke embroidery techniques ranging from beading, ribboning, cording and sequins.
