Advent Access is a medical technology startup focused on end-stage renal disease management. The company’s 2nd product is the Vwing™ - an implantable device designed to facilitate safe and reliable access to arteriovenous fistulas (AVF) in obese patients suffering from end stage renal disease undergoing hemodialysis. The product (SafeBreak®) and the company were accepted into the ZeroTo510 business accelerator in Memphis, TN in May of 2015 that specializes in medical devices. Spencer refined the business plan, developed prototypes, and pitched the product to several hospital administrators and clinicians in the Memphis area. SafeBreak Vascular is the first breakaway device to be cleared on all vascular access lines including peripheral IV catheters, midlines, peripherally inserted central catheters, central venous catheters, IV Ports, and interosseous vascular access devices on patients two weeks and up.
