We're a multidisciplinary team with a passion for creating and operating innovative and sustainable recirculating aquaculture systems. Aquaponics is a food production technique that combines aquaculture (RAS) with hydroponics techniques (plant cultivation on water), in a closed and dynamic system where fish waste nourishes plants, which in turn purify water for fish to grow healthily. It is a productive symbiotic ecosystem that truly uses organic and environmentally sustainable methodologies and dramatically saves water. Aquaponics provider and expert company focused on sustainable and productive aquaponics units, based on own developed technology for intensive food production, taking advantage of the symbiotic ecosystems combining aquaculture and crop farming and generating fresh, high quality fish protein and greens. It significantly reduces maintenance interventions and increases water savings, food safety and productivity without environmental impact and without depleting oceanic natural resources.

We manufacture and supply hi-tech technologies for modern agriculture. We are engaged in researching and developing technologies, design activities and constructing production aquaponic, hydroponic and RAS farms. Our vision is to have at least one aquaponic, hydroponic or RAS farm near every regional capital to supply its residents with local food produced in an organic and sustainable manner. That’s why we developed our own tanks over a year, which we have constantly been improving. We are convinced that our ingredients are the best in the local area. We are preparing an international company profile for the Future Farming Group. We are expanding our focus on a sustainable future for the planet and are ready to offer our know-how to the world. We are taking advantage of technology transfer and aiming for full automation of aquaponic farms as much as possible by 2026.

RASTECH was founded by Dr Andrew Whiston, Dougie Allen in 2021 to address their longstanding “itch” centred around developing science based platforms for genuinely sustainable and circular onshore aquaculture. RASTECH is upending the status quo in commercial aquaculture by providing radical and lasting improvements to fish farming and defend against the assault on freshwater and marine ecosystems. We deliver clean, high quality and affordable animal protein for all through transformative RAS aquaculture. RASTECH therefore seeks the best use of the dwindling resources at Man’s disposal to deliver fully tested, profitable and resilient RAS aquaculture platform technologies. Rastech is a unique sustainable aquaculture SME based in Scotland. We are re-thinking Recirculation Aquaculture Systems (RAS) design to deliver sustainably produced, clean, high-quality, and affordable food through transformative aquaculture science & technology. Rastech develops profitable RAS solutions, based on good science, that give producers a social license to operate. Rastech’s circular economy and data-driven methodology reduces water usage, enhances biosecurity, and provides better waste management, end-to-end product traceability and skilled jobs.
