Who is Carbon Upcycling?

We are a team of energetic doers focused on changing the world through circularity and carbon. At Carbon Upcycling we believe the materials we consider waste today are sustainable feedstocks for tomorrow. Our novel technology platform uses carbon dioxide emissions from any industry, combined with natural materials or industrial wastes—from coal plants, steel plants, glass manufacturing and more—to unlock new materials with improved performance and lower emissions. Our technology enables local, abundant and low emissions production of some of the most common materials on the planet, like cement, plastics, consumer products, fertilizers, and even pharmaceuticals. Our Company Mission: Welcome to the Carbon Age. Today we’re on a mission to reduce the carbon intensity of cement and concrete while maintaining strength, durability and cost. Tomorrow we’re creating a world where carbon is a sustainable resource to shape the future of humanity. Our team hails from leading universities in Canada and beyond, and we’ve been lucky to earn the support of many Canadian organizations and the Canadian government.
