Ceimici Novel has enabled biodiesel producers to complete the manufacturing ‘magic circle’ by providing profitable solutions for the utilisation of glycerol. Donal invented Smart Catalyst to streamline biodiesel production and concluded that converting glycerol to glycidol was the way forward. This is the root cause of all biodiesel production issues. Sodium methylate aids the production of biodiesel by accelerating the transesterification reaction. While refined oil is the easiest to process it is only economic for those involved in seed crushing. Added to this, there is a need to have the treated waste oil with low moisture content. This is a time-consuming exercise often ignored by processors leading to low yield, secondary processing and major difficulties in reaching specification in the first pass.
