We are a passionate and dedicated organisation and with your support we take action against climate change by planting native trees, reforesting areas which have been destroyed through illegal logging, development and agriculture. By planting native trees and managing the forest we can provide an attractive environment for insects, birds and mammals offering them a long term future in a protected home. We also want to build a wildlife centre that will provide shelter for rescued animals that have been neglected, maltreated or found injured, giving them the best possible care and time to recoup before, if possible, preparing them to be released back into suitable habitats. Working with local forest communities means we can provide a better future for people by creating sustainable employment and funding opportunities we can work towards reducing poverty and improving the quality of people’s lives. Through experience, training and education we are increasing peoples’ confidence, horticultural and landscaping skills, building employment skills and boosting emotional and mental wellbeing.

As the state’s leading environmental advocacy organisation, it is our mission to protect nature in NSW and create the conditions it needs to thrive. For more than 60 years, we have been at the centre of the state’s most important conservation battles and have notched up countless wins for wildlife, bushland, marine life, and local communities. We also play a leading role in fire policy, education, and ecology through our Healthy Ecosystems Program. Our belief in the power of collective action is central to everything we do. We know we are strongest when we work together.

We offer complementary programs and services that broadly support wildlife conservation and help connect people with our wildlife and wild spaces. Providing understandable and factual information about wildlife and their conservation is a core value of ours.

But we are also committed to education and awareness raising, to ensure that future generations become conscious consumers and trade is no longer driving the extinction of wildlife. At this critical point in time, when we are being asked to make the next decade matter for wildlife and the natural world, it is about what you choose to do. COVID-19 has provided a stark wakeup call that our relationship with animals and the natural world needs to change. Active For Animals’ mission is to support people of all generations, skills and experiences to take visible action for wildlife.

We are working to make spaces greener, more biodiverse, and to build nature back again. And our passions ensure we do it in the most regenerative way possible!
