DESTEN has been on a mission to revolutionize the energy storage and mobility industries since its inception. Desten’s overall strategy was and is to address the pain points across the energy ecosystem. Desten battery technology’s competitive advantage will increase the penetration of renewable energy sources. DESTEN’s cell technologies make Battery Electric Vehicles more acceptable for drivers and support grids in the integration of renewable energy, reducing our dependency upon fast-ramping but polluting incumbents like Fossil Fuels, by transitioning to powerful BESS. We are building an inclusive organisation, bringing together people from all walks of life, backgrounds and talents. We are also working to include volunteering opportunities as a core part of our presence, wherever we have a footprint, to make sure our local community gets to know us, and we them. We single-mindedly pursue our mission to change the face of energy; to execute this we are building an experienced team of advisors to support and guide our board and management team, ensuring we are structured to succeed. With Ultra-Fast Charging, DESTEN battery technologies overcome two key drawbacks associated with EVs today – Charging Anxiety and Range Anxiety.

BETTERY team transforms disruptive research into innovative technologies, responding positively to the current global sustainability challenges and creating profitable business. BETTERY project was originally born in the Laboratory of Electrochemistry of Energy Materials (LEME) at the Department of Chemistry “Giacomo Ciamician” of the Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna, where research on materials and devices for energy (lithium and post-lithium batteries, fuel cells, supercapacitors) has been carried out through national and international collaborations for more than thirty years. We are four cofounders, Dr Alessandro Brilloni, Prof Francesca Soavi, Dr Francesca De Giorgio and Dr Alessandro Pastore. Our technology can be applied wherever there is a need of high energy in a small space with freedom to design the power, while safety is a must: it can be customized to be place at service for your house, in a block of flats, to power off-grid system connected with renewable energy sources or to store energy in a large ship. NESSOX battery lowers the costs of energy storage and production of electricity from renewable sources. Carbon footprint reduced by 20% kg CO2eq, heavy-metals free, low impact manufacturing. Msc in Energy Engineering, PhD in Chemistry with focus on low environmental impact batteries. Professor at University of Bologna with 20+ years of experience in electrochemistry and worldwide network of researcher and industrials figures, first inventor of our technology.

MELODY is a H2020 funded project which brings together eight partners from five countries to carry out research which aims to support European Union efforts to enable storage which is sustainable in terms of the environment, access to material and cost. It combines industry and university research capabilities to explore new options for solving the challenges around energy storage. The world’s energy system is on the verge of a revolution, moving from a fossil fuel economy to a renewable resource economy. To enable this transition, a large amount of flexibility needs to be added to the electricity system. Storage will be key but to be viable and sustainable it will require both operational costs low enough for an attractive return on investment and access to sufficient materials to produce the necessary volumes.
