We deliver the EMBO Laboratory Leadership courses that help leaders in science develop their leadership and communication skills to improve their own performance, achievement and well-being, as well as those of their staff. We deliver the EMBO Scientific Skills workshops that train young scientists in both their understanding and application of the principles and tools of research integrity, scientific communication, and peer review. EMBO Solutions GmbH was founded in February 2009 and acts as the administrating body and legal entity for the EMBO Laboratory Leadership courses and other EMBO Training courses. We work to help make the research environment more productive, more inclusive, and fairer for all by delivering professional-development training to scientists and by working with EMBO to promote excellence in the life sciences. EMBLEM, founded in 1999, is the wholly owned subsidiary and exclusive technology and knowledge transfer partner of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL). EMBLEM offers licenses to an extensive portfolio of technologies from various sectors of the life sciences. We also provide access to a broad range of state-of-the-art molecular biology services, consultancy by EMBL scientists and research collaborations. EMBLEM is committed to bringing together researchers from academia and industry. EMBLEM is a real part of EMBL – helps us with technology transfer, licensing, contracts – we are very lucky to have EMBLEM as part of EMBL, and it’s just a pleasure working with our EMBLEM colleagues.

EMBL Australia is a life science network that supports ambitious research projects and provides access to infrastructure and training to early-career Australian scientists. It was launched with the goal of strengthening Australia’s global position in life sciences with a research model that is new to Australia – focusing on nurturing early-career scientists and making the most of Australia’s scientific infrastructure. EMBRC plays a critical role in today’s marine research landscape by supporting users internationally to pursue cutting-edge, high-impact research to tackle today’s pressing issues. EMBRC values quality and reproducibility in science, and holds itself to the highest ethical standards for working with living organisms, while promoting ‘FAIR’ (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) data principles. The European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC) was established in 2013 to advance fundamental and applied marine biology and ecology research – while promoting the sustainable blue economy.

In addition, we provide access to training courses for all different levels of expertise. Euro-BioImaging’s mission is to provide you with imaging services that bridge biological and biomedical imaging and facilitate innovative and world-class research. Access to imaging technologies: We offer access to a range of imaging technologies to allow you image across the scales at one of our 35 Nodes, located in 18 countries and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, EMBL. Expert training and support: Each Node is staffed with personnel who can provide the support required to maximise the output of your research project. Galaxy is a free, open-source cloud-based system for analyzing data, authoring workflows and much more. Many Euro-BioImaging Nodes are working on innovative image analysis and image data management solutions and the next Euro-BioImaging User Forum is designed to highlight these. The annual meeting of the European Light Microscopy Initiative (ELMI), is a key event in the calendar of hundreds of scientists and developers.

ECOPS was established by the European Science Foundation (ESF) and the European Commission (DG Research) in 1989 to identify the ‘Grand Challenges’ in ocean and polar science. The European Marine Board was established in 1995 to facilitate enhanced cooperation between European marine science organizations towards the development of a common vision on the strategic research priorities for marine science in Europe. The EMaPS Board provided coordination of specific marine and polar activities and initiatives, and the coordination of joint activities where appropriate. The move was made possible by a generous offer from the Government of Flanders, which continues to provide invaluable support to the hosting of the Secretariat today. Over the past years, European Marine Board has evolved into a dynamic, innovative and creative organization drawing on its membership and the wider marine science community to advance the European marine research and policy agenda and to promote the importance of marine science and technology in sustainable ocean development and governance. Looking ahead, EMB will continue to operate as the foremost platform for seas and ocean strategy and foresight in Europe. EMB has built a strong reputation through development of rigorous processes for delivering science policy advice and through its continuous adaptation in the changing marine science policy landscape.
