The company was formed as ECS in December 1999 as the UK Distributor for Ericsson AB, Sweden, to address the UK high voltage cable market. The company was founded on the approach of providing engineered solutions to the high voltage cable industry in particular for complex projects, such as the connection to oil filled cable systems and tunnel installations. As the company grew in strength and reputation, in 2006 ECS became the UK Agent for LS Cable & Systems, South Korea, complementing the range of cable and accessories provided by Ericsson to address the UK market up to 400kV. The combined supply from both factories resulted in 250km of 132kV XLPE cable delivered by ECS to the UK in 2007 alone. We believe that this structure gives all employees the opportunity to feel part of the ECS family and that by working together, we can achieve a better outcome for everyone.
