Our vision as a company is a wasteless society. Our mission is to pave the way to a wasteless society by transforming household waste into desirable products. We have been a pioneer in developing this approach in Australia and have built and now operate the largest AWT facility in the southern hemisphere with 220,000 tonnes of household waste processed each year at our Eastern Creek Urban Resource – Reduction, Recovery and Recycling (UR-3R) Facility, in Sydney. Our technology provides the flexibility to adapt to the variability of the waste stream in order to convert it into the most desirable products. Over 2,500,000 t CO2-e of emissions have been avoided as of 2020 by the Eastern Creek UR-3R Facility. Our belief is that as the people, producers and legislators understand which materials are not recyclable and as we recyclers keep improving our know-how to transform more of the waste stream into desirable products, we will reduce the amount of non-recoverable materials in the waste stream and pave the way to a more sustainable future, one where ultimately there is no waste. Accepting the responsibility to inspire and deliver positive change in the face of adversity. Having relationships which focus on the creation of value for all parties.

Our goal is a future where products stay in use for as long as possible and where resource recovery and re-use become the default options. We’re committed to putting science to work to find new ways to minimise waste and recover value from materials at end of first life. Along the way, we have built up a team of knowledgeable and enthusiastic engineers, technicians and project managers who now work with customers across the globe. The experience of developing our own plants and products as well as providing consultancy services gives us an unrivalled breadth of technical, commercial and market knowledge and expertise. They responded rapidly to our request, delivering a rigorous evaluation of the capital equipment and of the claimed plant performance numbers as well as giving valuable advice on the risk factors around process yield and product quality.”. We’re on a mission to protect finite resources and reduce landfill by developing and supporting circular economy initiatives that provide a viable alternative to the ‘take, make, dispose’ model. We run our own multimillion pound advanced sorting and reprocessing plants, sell both the products and by-products of the process, and share our engineering and business expertise through a range of consultancy and practical support services. As a result, we’ve become widely recognised as experts in developing innovative resource recovery technologies, process plants and business models that deliver both financial and environmental benefits.

For us, waste is a state of mind, an opportunity. We transform a wide range of used materials into useful products and raw materials for our customers, like recycled paper, metal, plastic and glass, woodchips, compost, energy, fuel, and other products. With our deep international expertise we also provide our customers with an extensive product range, combined with local service and attention. Above all, our team is committed and passionate about our mission: waste no more. Firstly, we have an overarching group strategic priority to deliver the benefits of the merger. We will do this by delivering the synergies we have committed to and by driving growth over the longer term. Secondly, we have introduced a new business division called monostreams which is a collection of businesses focused on specific end markets such as glass and electronics. Renewi and Wakefield Council opened a new purpose built Waste Education and Recycling Education Centre in January 2016.
