INENSUS also operates an electromechanical workshop and laboratory and provides project developers and plant operators with valuable technical expertise covering all aspects of the mini-grid and renewable energy value chain, from consulting to EPC (engineering-procurement-construction) like detailed design and parameterization of energy systems, preparation of all system components for plug-and-play installation, integration of customized system controls based on the unique microcontroller-controlled platforms, documentation of the power supply systems with technical circuit diagrams, installation manuals and drawings, EPC of power supply systems (including PV solar systems, wind turbines, batteries, diesel generators, LV or MV distribution), training of system installers and operators around the world in the installation, operation, maintenance and management of power supply systems and development of electronic devices as customized solutions for various customers and applications in INENSUS' own projects by the engineering department. INENSUS' consulting and engineering services are sought after by governments, international development organizations, private companies, development banks and impact investors, as INENSUS has extensive experience in rural electrification gained through its own projects. INENSUS, in collaboration with international and local partners, has established three companies as micro-utility companies (and remains one of the main shareholders) to realize mini-grid projects and privately operate the systems in the long term to provide reliable access to quality electricity services to households, public infrastructure, commercial and small industrial users in rural areas in Senegal (mini-grid in operation since 2010), Tanzania (mini-grid in operation since 2016) and Uganda (established in 2021 and currently under development).
