Kodiak Building Partners was founded in July 2011 with the intent of focusing on acquiring family-run businesses in the building material sales and distribution industries. While Kodiak does a lot of acquisitions within the industry, we are proud of the fact that we operate differently than most acquisition firms of the same nature. Since the historical legacy of the industry is so fragmented by local companies, we operate on a fierce principle of decentralization when it comes to locally owned businesses. Founded in 2011, Kodiak Building Partners was created with the idea that the building materials distribution and sales industry was mainly comprised of family-run businesses and the knowledge that retaining their cultures and reputations would be the key to our success.
