Human recombinant GM-CSF | Animal-free | Myeloid cells | Qkine
Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) is a hematopoietic growth factor involved in the differentiation and activation of monocytes such as macrophages and dendritic cells, and granulocytes such as neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils. It is also involved in the development of erythroid, megakaryocytes, and keratinocytes. GM-CSF binds to the GM-CSF receptor (CSF2R) and activates the JAK2/ STAT-5, Ras/ ERK, NF-kB, and PI3K pathways. It is commonly used in cell culture to stimulate the differentiation and maturation of human-induced pluripotent stem cells or peripheral blood monocytes to myeloid cells. GM-CSF can also increase the glycolytic activity of macrophages and promote an M1 polarization. Human GM-CSF is composed of 144 amino acids with a molecular weight of 14.6 kDa. This protein is animal-free, carrier protein-free, tag-free, and non-glycosylated to ensure a homogenous population with exceptional lot-to-lot consistency. Qk076 is suitable for reproducible and high-quality neutrophils and other relevant cell cultures.

Human recombinant Flt3L | Animal-free | Dendritic cells | Qkine
Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt-3 Ligand or Flt3L) is a cytokine that is involved in the regulation of hematopoiesis. It stimulates the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of various early myeloid and lymphoid progenitor cells. Flt3L is commonly used in the differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells into dendritic cells. Human recombinant Flt3L has a molecular weight of 17.6 kDa. This protein is animal-free, carrier protein-free, tag-free, and non-glycosylated to ensure a homogenous population with exceptional lot-to-lot consistency. Flt3L is suitable for the culture of reproducible and high-quality myeloid progenitors and dendritic cells.

Recombinant human GDF-15 protein (Qk017) | Qkine
Human GDF15 (growth differentiation factor 15) protein is a member of the TGFβ family and subject of intense interest as a marker of cellular stress and for its role in metabolism, cancer and pregnancy. Human GDF15 also is functional in mouse studies. This 25 kDa disulfide-linked dimer is composed of the mature domain of human growth differentiation factor 15 protein. Our recombinant GDF15 protein is expressed in E. coli and exceptionally high purity extensively validated to ensure no trace contamination of related TGFβ family proteins from the mammalian culture systems, which historically led to controversy in the literature.

Growth factor considerations in Cellular Agriculture | Qkine
Cultivated meat is a nascent industry with a developing regulatory framework, with distinct regional differences. There are however some shared themes across regulatory frameworks and best practice. Within the UK and EU, cultivated meat is considered a novel food and as such falls under the scope of Regulation (EU) No. 2015/2283. In response to this classification, the Food Safety Agency commissioned an internal report into the potential hazards to the consumer associated with the production and consumption of cultured meat. Following a literature review of 154 papers discussing cultured meat as a technology, themes that apply to growth factors have been highlighted and discussed.
