Operating as an independent subsidiary, the new MIXARS brand will focus on developing a premium range of DJ and Studio Recording technology. Serato’s story begins with Pitch ‘n Time - still the world’s foremost studio plugin for time-stretching and pitch-shifting technology. And so, Serato Pitch ‘n Time was born in 1999. Serato also created Scratch Studio Edition during 2000. Serato partners up with Rane to launch Serato Scratch Live in 2004 with the Rane SL1. In 2008 Serato launched Whitelabel.net: a unique system for putting digital, promo-only releases directly into the hands of DJs. While Serato Scratch Live had taken off, there were still inherent problems with your every-day DJ setup, like the declining quality of in-house turntables.

The last 25 years D&R is mainly involved in Broadcast related products, such as the Webstation, AXUM, AXITE, Airlite-USB, Airmate-USB, Airence-USB and the Airlab-DT. It was a revolutionary product for the time. This made it possible to build more complex products. This product is still very much a collector's item. In 1983, D&R launched the 300 and 700 series on the market as the small, affordable mixing consoles for recording studios just starting out and for location recording. In 1984, D&R launched the larger in-line mixing consoles, such as the 2000 and 4000 series. In the years between 1987 and 1991 inclusive, D&R expanded its range with products such as the successful Dayner mixer, the new Stylyx live recording mixer, the Disteq mixer, the professional broadcast mixers Aided and Aircom, as well as the Avalon multitrack recording mixer.
