Who We Are - Retinex Inc. - The Foundation of Retinex
The foundation of Retinex began more than 20 years ago with research in real time process monitoring and control at the University of Waterloo Automated Laser Fabrication Laboratory. This research aimed to improve the consistency of dimensional accuracy and mechanical properties during Laser Additive Manufacturing, Laser Heat Treatment, and Welding. This eventually led to the development of our own process monitoring, optimization, and control system. The first physical prototype was built in 2019. In 2020, we sold our first system to Promation, and we began testing in real-time monitoring and control of Metal Arc Welding at the Centre for Advanced Materials Joining.
