RH2INE is taking the first step towards a zero-emission transport corridor by developing the right conditions and infrastructure for the use of hydrogen for the inland transport chain with a current focus on inland shipping. RH2INE will stimulate a targeted structural demand for hydrogen in the mobility sector, aligned with a sustainable hydrogen supply network. The transition towards a zero-emission transport sector will accelerate a new and vast flourishing sustainable economy alongside the Rhine-Alpine corridor and an improved quality of life for the people living and working alongside it. Rhine Hydrogen Integration Network of Excellence (RH2INE), endorsed by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, is an initiative of the Province of Zuid-Holland and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitisation and Energy of North Rhine-Westphalia. Focussing on the EU’s ambition to become the first zero emission continent, RH2INE seeks to realise market-ready hydrogen applications along one of EU’s oldest core network corridors, powered by the first sustainable and interoperable gas and electricity networks in the world.
