Strategic Biofuels |
When we use the waste from the managed, sustainable plantation forests as the feedstock for the SAF we interrupt that cycle. In fact, studies have shown that SAF reduces emissions from jet engines by 80% or more.

Technology | Strategic Biofuels
Strategic Biofuels’ technology platform is built using safe, licensed processes. | Strategic Biofuels utilizes a well-established, proven technology set from world-class licensors to efficiently and safely produce the highest quality renewable fuels. The renewable diesel fuel we produce will have the lowest carbon footprint of any commercially available renewable diesel fuel. Unlike biodiesel, which is an oxygenated chemical that is severely limited in the amount that can be blended into commercial fuels, Strategic Biofuels’ renewable diesel is chemically identical to petroleum-derived diesel and therefore is not limited in the amount that can be blended into commercial fuel. It is a true “drop-in fuel.” | Gasification | Converts wood waste into syngas via gasification. | Gasification is a nearly two century old technology that can convert any carbonaceous (carbon based) raw material such as wood into carbon monoxide and hydrogen, also known as synthesis gas or syngas. | Fischer-Tropsch | Reassembles the carbon monoxide and hydrogen into a clean synthetic crude. | Fischer-Tropsch technology was developed in the mid-1920’s in Germany to produce liquid fuels and lubricants from coal. It is being used today to produce liquid fuels from natural gas, coal, and municipal solid waste. | Upgrading | Upgrading technology converts the synthetic crude from the Fischer-Tropsch Process into transportation fuels. | Upgrading technology is used today in hundreds of refineries to make finished fuels like gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. Because the synthetic crude is clean and contaminant free, the upgrading required is much milder than that required by conventional crudes. Strategic Biofuels’ upgrading licensor has proved conversion of wood derived synthetic crude into both diesel and jet fuels meeting all regulatory requirements. | Carbon Sequestration | Carbon is captured and stored deep beneath the earth’s surface where it cannot contaminate the atmosphere. | This technology is highly regulated by the EPA and permitted. Carbon sequestration wells, known as Class VI wells, have operated successfully all over the world and there’s never been a leak from a commercial carbon sequestration reservoir or well anywhere. | Carbon sequestration is a safe method that is being utilized around the world to help reduce carbon impact on our environment.
