We are a premium Swedish brand launched in 2019 that combines contemporary design with the latest innovations in vegan-sustainable materials. This means all our products are fully recyclable. All our products are third party verified by Ethy and PETA to ensure that all our sustainability claims are substantiated. Our manufacturing takes place in ethical factories in Portugal which are closely monitored by our in house quality control team to ensure the highest quality and environmental standards are met. Since our launch in November 2019, we’ve grown, spreading our vegan sustainable products globally. Our journey is a testament to the power of a single vision to transform an industry.

Our mission is to bring joy and beauty into people’s lives and homes across Australia and New Zealand through minimalist, functional and timeless Scandinavian design. We are proud to have strong, long standing relationships with our customers, some of which we have been working with for over 10 years. We are reducing our environmental impacts by recycling all our packaging including soft plastics, recycle bins for all our employees, turning lights off in our office, store and showroom, employees reusing their own coffee mugs and reusing packaging for customer deliveries. We are committed to giving all women the comfort they deserve, starting by getting rid of all the annoying stuff that never should have been put into underwear in the first place. Understatement is a Swedish, female-founded force of change, dedicated to redefining women’s underwear. One of many reasons why we are so committed to challenging industry norms, to walking the talk and to taking social and environmental responsibility. Our collections are produced close to home, mainly by European and Turkish manufacturing partners that are experts in the field of underwear. All our manufacturing partners are certified for social and environmental compliance. Most of them are female-run, sharing our vision of empowering women and working towards gender equality.

By offering sustainable collections, whereby the environmental impact is kept as small as possible, we hope to be able to reduce the impact of fashion and textiles on the environment. For our swimwear collection we use ECONYL® regenerated nylon which is a recycled fiber coming from waste such as fishing nets and other nylon waste.

Our goal is to support you to shop for clothing made with care, from high quality materials, that you can love for longer. Clothing production was outsourced to countries with lower labour costs. Corporate brands with big advertising budgets and token capsule collections aren’t the ones leading the change. And have a social or environmental mission in their DNA.
