An algal photobioreactor is a system for cultivating photosynthetic microalgae under controlled conditions. It typically consists of a container with a transparent or translucent wall, a light source, and various components for controlling the growth environment such as temperature, nutrients, and pH. The microalgae are grown in a continuous culture, allowing for higher biomass productivity. Algal photobioreactors are used for production of biofuels, food and feed, and other bioproducts.
