Artificial gravity is a method of creating the sensation of gravity by accelerating an object or a group of objects in a circular motion. It is usually achieved by rotating a spacecraft or other enclosed environment around its center of mass, so that the centripetal force generated by the rotation causes objects and people within the craft to be pulled towards the outer walls, creating an artificial gravity equivalent to the force of gravity on the surface of a planet.
