A Draw Wire Sensor is a device that measures the displacement of an object by monitoring the length of a wire as it is pulled and released. It consists of a spool of wire that is connected to a spring which is connected to a spooled pulley. As the object moves, the wire is pulled and the pulley spool rotates and reads the length of the wire. The output from the Draw Wire Sensor is a linear displacement measurement.
