Ergonomics in manufacturing is the application of ergonomic principles and practices to the design, implementation and evaluation of production systems, in order to maximize the health, safety and comfort of those performing the work. This includes assessing the physical and cognitive demands of the work being done, as well as the design of the work environment, tools and equipment used, and the layout of the physical workspace. The goal is to reduce fatigue, injury and discomfort, thereby increasing productivity and worker satisfaction.
