Fibre-reinforced polymers (FRPs) are composite materials made from a combination of polymers matrix and reinforcing fibres. The matrix could be a plastic, such as polyester, epoxy or polyamide, and the reinforcing fibres could be glass, carbon or aramid. The combination of these materials creates a strong, lightweight material that is resistant to corrosion and can be used in a variety of applications. FRPs are increasingly being used in the automotive and aerospace industries, as well as in the construction and marine sectors.
