Land cover mapping is the process of creating a map that displays the different types of land cover within an area, such as vegetation, soil, water, and urban features. It is used to identify and monitor changes in land use and land cover, support land management decisions, and inform environmental and conservation initiatives. Land cover mapping is typically done using remote sensing data collected from satellites, airplanes, and other airborne platforms.
