Optical interferometry is a technique used to measure distances and angles with extreme precision by combining two or more light waves. It does this by creating an interference pattern between the two waves, which is then analyzed to determine the desired information. This technique can be used to measure distances of objects that are too far away to be measured directly, or to measure the shape or surface of objects that are too small to be seen with the naked eye.
