Reconfigurable robotics is a field of robotics that focuses on robots that are able to change their form and function to better fit the task at hand. This includes robots that can switch between different components or configurations to best complete a task. Reconfigurable robots are built from modular components that can be quickly assembled and rearranged to accomplish different tasks, allowing them to be more versatile and adaptable than traditional robots. As such, they are able to complete a variety of tasks that might otherwise require multiple robots.
