Originating with the Mason jar as our muse, Masontops has taken the fundamantal qualities of the Mason jar—durability, simplicity and versatility—and applied them to every facet of our business. Founded by childhood friends Phil Baron and Mike Bacher, Masontops started with a joint appreciation of Mason jars. Food weights are a common fermentation tool, but Masontops found most to be too expensive, too light and poorly sized for Mason jars. After getting to know the fermentation community, Masontops discovered a gap in the market: a simple, easy-to-use, airlock tool to automatically release gas during fermentation.

This high barrier element is added to provide maximum odor protection. This prevents the package from stripping trichomes off of your product which contain 90% of the flower’s terpenes. This element works together with the oxygen layer to provide active humidity control. Low oxygen levels slow down the respiration process, then excess water vapor that has built up in the package’s head space is diffused through the packaging to prevent mold growth and create optimal humidity levels. The UV element combined with the opacity of the packaging provides superior protection from harmful UV rays.
