BCI is 100% Saudi owned and for over 40 years has been supporting the Saudi industrial and consumer market by providing high quality chemical products. In 1967 Mohanna Abdulaziz Almoaibed set out to establish a chemical manufacturing company in the Eastern Province—a highly unusual business venture for that time in Saudi Arabia. The Manufacturing Plant was built in the first industrial zone in Dammam, while help from several key partners: In its early years, and as often happens in the early stages, the company faced several obstacles including a shortage of financial support. Since its inception in 1973, Basic Chemical Industries (BCI) has grown impressively to become one of the leading chemical companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Located in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom, the company’s headquarters, its manufacturing plant and main storage facilities are on its own 200,000 square meter site besides Dammam’ s First Industrial City. Saudi Arabia’s Dammam-headquartered Basic Chemical Industries (BCI) has, over three decades, emerged as the Kingdom’s largest privately owned chemical company, with a series of expansions and joint ventures covering a diverse range of chemical products.
