MMI was founded offering machining Base Plates to one Hard Disk Drive company. MMI Baseplate Division was the first in the industry to design, develop and mass produce the world's first Aluminum Baseplate machined from a solid block of aluminum for helium filled hard disk drive which demands highest precision machining and tightest quality control. Since 1989, MMI Baseplate Division has been supplying high volume, highest quality die-cast HDD Aluminum baseplate with fully vertically integrated in-house capabilities including Mold Design & Fabrication, Casting, Secondary Process, Electrocoating, Precision Machining, Aqueous DI Washing & Various Final Inspections. MMI's advantage in VCMA is in electromagnetic systems design and testing capabilities, many of which unique and patented.
