These include experiences of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship struggles, as well as a number of other circumstances that may create stress and discomfort in everyday life. I have been working with individuals, couples, families and groups for over 30 years. Central to my practice is working collaboratively with clients, so that they feel carefully listened to and understood. This requires respect, compassion, and empathy. It also involves ensuring that the goals we work on are those that you find meaningful and important. Each client is an individual, and as such, I draw from a variety of treatment approaches to assist you, in ways that are most helpful to your specific concerns. My background includes training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, trauma treatment, Narrative Therapy, Brief Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Family Systems Therapy. Over my career I have worked in the areas of health care, children’s mental health, adult mental health, trauma treatment and adult education. As an educator at the post-secondary level for over 18 years, I taught in the areas of Social Work, and Mental Health and Addictions, while simultaneously maintaining a private counselling practice. I make every attempt to respond to phone calls and emails within two business days.
