Our mission is to be a respected leader in commissioning, providing and partnering in the delivery of:. The Commission was established on 8 March 2010 to lead mental health reform throughout the State and work towards a modern effective mental health system that places the individual and their recovery at the centre of its focus. Since the amalgamation we are also responsible for the network of drug and alcohol treatment services and programs formerly provided or purchased by the Drug and Alcohol Office. We are guided by the Western Australian Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug Services Plan 2015-2025, which sets out the optimal mix and level of mental health, alcohol and other drug services required for the people of Western Australia. The Mental Health Commission is working to establish mental health, alcohol and other drug systems that meet the needs of Western Australia’s population and deliver quality outcomes for individuals and their families. The Commission was created initially by transferring existing resources of the Mental Health Division of the Department of Health. On 1 July 2015, the Mental Health Commission and the Drug and Alcohol Office amalgamated, establishing an integrated approach to mental health and alcohol and other drugs service delivery for Western Australia. We do not provide direct mental health services, but purchase services for the State from a range of providers including public Health Service Providers, a wide range of non-government organisations and private service providers.

Our vision is of an Ireland with accessible, effective and inclusive mental health services and supports. Initially named The Irish Mental Health Coalition, Mental Health Reform was founded in 2006. The coalition had three service providers, an advocacy organisation and a human rights organisation. Those pillars (service providers, advocacy and human rights) were present from the very beginning, and they were what was needed to move the coalition forward. The coalition was focused on holding the Government accountable in its delivery of that policy. That membership expanded to incorporate other organisations who had something to offer, particularly those that had strong grassroots involvement, so that we could hear the voices of mental health service users. This marked the transition from a campaigning coalition operated as a project of Shine, to the establishment of a national support organisation for NGOs representing service users, families and community groups engaged in mental health. Today, Mental Health Reform is Ireland’s leading national coalition on mental health.

We provide expert care and an individual tailored care package designed with you at the centre of it. Mental Health Charter (MHC) is a Mental Health Charter, borne out of a cross industry volunteer group created with contributions from clients, managers, trade associations, unions, regulators, training bodies. The purpose is to provide a flexible and consistent charter to enable all businesses in the UK to access mental health support, provide awareness and training and put in place a structure and systems to support people in the workplace.

MHS was established by Bernie Graham in 2006 and is committed to facilitating training that both raises awareness of mental health problems and also provides a means of addressing these serious health concerns for all organisations.

Overall, we believe that the abstraction of community-wide wellbeing is tangible, and that mental wellness is attained by individuals when root causes and obstacles are addressed through unified efforts. Central to MHC’s mission and workplace culture is promoting and practicing cultural humility and competency, anti-racism, and allyship. MHC’s treatment programs are accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). Accreditation is the result of rigorous reviews and certifies that MHC conforms to nationally and internationally recognized service standards focused on quality and effectiveness. MHC is a Platinum-Certified organization for the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health by Mental Health America (MHA). We operate with the highest ethical principles, employ the best practices, and are a responsible steward of community resources. To ensure this work is a movement of progress and not a moment in time, the work requires both vigilance and patience in order to listen, learn, and take action.

Our aim is to provide and promote positive mental health and wellness services and education and training opportunities for all. We also provide face-to-face and online confidential and personalized psychological counselling and psychotherapy sessions and consultations on request for individuals (teens, adults, couples, elderly citizens) and groups.
