NorcSi GmbH

Silicon is the most intensively researched material in the semiconductor industry. This scientific knowledge is rarely used in battery research – unlike at NorcSi. Our production is based on an interdisciplinary research project launched in 2013 by the Helmholtz Centre Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) and the Technical University of Freiberg (TU Bergakademie Freiberg). Originally founded to provide services in the field of pump repair, ROVAK GmbH is now a globally active company specializing in innovative special machinery. Marcel Neubert worked at Centrotherm-FHR, a leading supplier of vacuum coating systems. Our patented anode platform technology brings 100% silicon anodes into existing cell production and future generations of batteries. The special structure of the NorcSi anode allows this characteristic to be utilized for a massive increase in energy density while providing a particularly high charging rate. Our special manufacturing process compensates the strong volumetric variation that silicon usually undergoes during charging.
