WSense is a deep-tech company, born as a spinoff of Sapienza University in Rome, specialized in underwater monitoring and communication systems, based on patented technologies that have pioneered the Internet of Underwater Things (IoUT). WSense’s provides end to end components engineered to enable multi-modal secure wireless communications and networking among submerged and surface sensing and robotic platforms. Wsense platform enables mesh multi-hop networking as well as interoperability among various vendors of underwater sensors and autonomous vehicles (ASV, AUV), ensuring real-time long lasting monitoring over large areas and an extensive surveillance of underwater environments, waterways and marine seabeds. Wsense has been part of the first NATO standardization efforts in underwater communications for NIAG 190 and SG243. In 2022 Wsense has won the European Commission’s Blue Invest Award in the ocean observation category and the EIT Digital Challenge 2022 as top deep tech scale up to European level. In 2023 Wsense has been selected as winner of the @UpLink Ocean Data Challenge at World Economic Forum in Davos, joining a great community of innovators to boost ocean conservation and promote a sustainable blue economy. In July 2023 Wsense will empower the Gran Final of the Ocean Race in Genova deploying its technology to support divers and blue economy stakeholders.
