Jan founded BioSpeech in 2004 and has been responsible for a wide variety of projects on technologies for individuals with neurological disorders, both at BioSpeech Inc. Biospeech apps provide an explicitly customized and continuously adapting training path for the individual user. Biospeech apps are useful for both children and adults. With Kain and other innovative researchers Jan has received more then $5 million in Small Business Innovative Research from the National Institutes of Health to develop products that help people hear, talk, read, and write better. Based on its extensive insights into human speech sounds, Biospeech is developing intellectual property to commercialize the benefits of its research and bring them to as many people as possible in easy to use tools. Angela Allen is a nationally recognized writer in Portland, Ore., who worked for 25 years as a daily newspaper columnist, reviewer and staffer, and now contributes to Oregon Arts Watch and to Classical Voice North America. Kelly is a practicing speech-language pathologist and digital media manager who spends entirely too much time on Twitter every day. Through many years of world-leading research in connection with the Center for Spoken Language Understanding at Oregon Health & Science University, BioSpeech has gained an in-depth understanding of spoken language systems.
