Micro-Sphere is a privately-owned Swiss company with over 20 years’ experience in pharmaceutical contract manufacturing services. We are a customer-oriented company with a very flexible approach and a strong focus on quality and safety. Micro-Sphere was established in 1998 in Madonna del Piano, in southern Switzerland, next to the border with Italy. In January 2010, Micro-Sphere moved to its current home, a new state-of-the-art facility in Monteggio (Ticino), 3.5 km (2 mi) from its original site. We are a contract development and manufacturing organisation and a specialist provider of commercial and clinical scale spray drying, capsule filling and a wide range of pharmaceutical contract manufacturing services. We provide a range of specialist pharmaceutical contract manufacturing services in the spray drying of aqueous and organic solutions, of conventional APIs, HPAPIs, lipids, proteins, and in capsule filling for dry powder. The ownership changed in December 2008, and the next two years were dedicated to the construction of a new facility. Our production team includes expertise in technology transfer, process optimization scale-up and process validation.
