Technology for Education Consortium (TEC)

TEC was founded in 2015 with a mission is to bring transparency, efficiency, and collaboration to K-12 schools engaged in evaluating and purchasing edtech products and services. School districts have been making purchasing decisions without reliable information about whether those products lead to desired educational outcomes. Products are often misused or underused, breaking the feedback loop necessary for improvements. Archaic procurement policies routinely eliminate cutting-edge products simply because they are marketed by companies unfamiliar with school buying procedures. The Technology for Education Consortium (TEC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring transparency, efficiency, and collaboration to K-12 schools engaged in evaluating and purchasing edtech products and services. We believe that greater transparency and better information will allow school districts to improve results, reduce costs and support new product development. TEC is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting districts in improving edtech purchasing.
