We believe that having precise molecular detail of proteins and oligonucleotides is key to our understanding of disease biology and the therapeutics developed to modify it. Combined, Dr.s Compton, Drader and Kelleher have over 60 years of experience in mass spectrometry applied to the analysis of proteins and oligonucleotides and are passionate about enabling the field to have profound impacts on human health and wellness. The core of the group is built around expertise in technology development for complex mixture analysis using Fourier-Transform mass spectrometry (FTMS) for targeted applications in proteomics and natural products chemistry. In technology, we established protein separations, new mass spectrometric hardware, and provided software used by >1000 labs worldwide to harness the value of complex FTMS data with high mass accuracy. As the Director of Mass Spectrometry R&D, Dr. Drader rounds out the team by providing in depth experience on commercialization of products destined for the medical diagnostic space, as well as a very strong technical background in workflow automation.

We specialise in the development and manufacture of columns for analytical applications in liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and high-end proteomics. Our highly reproducible methods provide a unique ability to enhance the sensitivity of mass spectrometry sample analysis, enabling scientists and clinicians to discover more from their samples.

Current demanding GC and GC/MS applications have an increased focus on sensitive analysis of more challenging active analytes.

In addition to our work on trace isotope detection, we are drawing on our understanding of quantum technology and laser techniques to develop a carbon dating analysis service with the potential to revolutionise this particular field. With the analysis service we are developing, results will be provided in days rather than weeks or months. Our plan is to focus initially on archaeological artefacts and then expand our services into related disciplines within a short timescale.

FastCompChem is unleashing quantum mechanics in Computer Aided Drug Design (CADD) to accelerate and lower the development costs of new drugs. FastCompChem is developing new paradigms in CADD, from virtual screening to prediction of ADME/TOX properties. FastCompChem’s technologies solve major problems of quantum mechanics, including computation of electron repulsion integrals and diagonalization of very large matrices. Additionally, FastCompChem also develops new and accurate semi-empirical methodologies for very large systems. FastCompChem developed solutions to two of the major problems that prevent extension of quantum chemical methods to very large systems, in particular computation of electron repulsion integrals² and diagonalization of very large matrices³. FastCompChem’s vision goes beyond the simple extension of current methodologies and aims at developing from the ground up a new semi-empirical method. FastCompChem’s new algorithm, named Fast-QUANTA, starts where DFTB is short, addressing many of its limitations. Besides developing new Hamiltonians, FastCompChem is introducing new parameterization strategies to the world of quantum chemistry.
