After a while the oil column doesn't reach the surface and the production must be stimulated by an Artificial Lift ( AL) system. Most of us know the oil wells from the Nodding Donkeys. What are the alternatives? Cosams thought about the quest. How do we gather fluid and transport this to another location? Collecting it in a cloth and then move it and take the fluid out the cloth again. How do we attract oil in a blanket, sponge or body? Water we can use natural sponges, and there are very good mops, but for oil? There are oilspill cleaners in the market. They may use interesting materials to clean out an oilwell. After experimenting with several potential fibers a mixture of synthetic fibers seem to be optimal. A cord which is endless and lippophillic, which absorbs the fluid downhole and lift it to the surface is the baseic idea behind the new sustainable Artificial Lift.
