VOSRC is partnering with ELIAS Animal Health to conduct a clinical trial to evaluate ELIAS Cancer Immunotherapy, ELIAS’s vaccine-enhanced adoptive T-cell therapy, following chemotherapy as treatment for B-cell lymphoma in dogs. We are currently accepting new B-cell canine lymphoma patients into the study. We are pleased to learn from ELIAS Animal Health that the USDA agrees ECI demonstrates reasonable expectation of efficacy for treating bone cancer in dogs. VOSRC was a participant in the clinical trial that led to the commercialization and licensing approval. We provide consultations as well as personalized recommendations and treatment for all types of pet cancer. In this instance, administration of lymphoma vaccines from the dog’s own lymph nodes following remission induction with chemotherapy resulted in longer remission durations and survival times when compared to chemotherapy alone. Monoclonal antibody therapy has become a gold standard of therapy for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in humans. Clinical trials were conducted at VOSRC in a variety of cancers of dogs.

Things to know about Oncology Services

What is Oncology Services?

Oncology services encompass a comprehensive range of medical practices dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and research of cancer. This multidisciplinary service involves a team of specialists including oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and nurses, all working collaboratively to design and implement a personalized treatment plan for each patient. Beyond the primary focus on eradicating malignant cells and tumors, oncology services extend to preventive measures, screening tests, genetic counseling, and palliative care to manage symptoms and improve the quality of life for patients at every stage of cancer. The impact of these services within the medical field is profound, contributing significantly to the advancement of cancer treatment methodologies, enhancing survival rates, and fostering a better understanding of cancer biology. Through ongoing research and clinical trials, oncology services continue to evolve, integrating innovative therapies such as immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and precision medicine into standard care practices. This relentless pursuit of knowledge and improvement underscores the critical role that oncology services play not only in patient care but also in the broader context of public health, offering hope and new possibilities in the fight against one of the most challenging diseases of our time.

Advantages of Oncology Services

1. Specialized Care
Oncology services provide patients with access to healthcare professionals who specialize in cancer treatment. This specialization ensures that patients receive the most current and effective treatment strategies tailored to their specific type of cancer, enhancing the chances of positive outcomes.

2. Comprehensive Treatment Plans
These services often encompass a multidisciplinary approach, combining surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other treatments. This holistic strategy addresses not just the cancer itself but also the patient's overall wellbeing, including emotional and psychological support.

3. Access to Advanced Technology

This personalized approach increases the efficacy of treatment, minimizes side effects, and leads to better patient outcomes compared to more generic treatment options.

How to select right Oncology Services supplier?

While evaluating the different suppliers make sure to check the following criteria:

1. Accreditation and Certifications
Ensure the supplier has recognized accreditations and certifications specific to oncology, reflecting adherence to high standards of care and treatment.

2. Experience and Specialization
Look for suppliers with extensive experience and specialization in oncology services, indicating a deep understanding and capability in handling complex cancer care.

5. Research and Innovation
Check if the supplier is involved in ongoing research and innovation in oncology, which can indicate their commitment to advancing cancer treatment and care.

6. Cost and Insurance Compatibility
Consider the cost of services and ensure they are compatible with insurance providers or offer feasible payment plans, making treatment accessible.

What is the Technology Forecast of Oncology Services?

In the Short-Term, we anticipate significant advancements in precision medicine within oncology services. This involves the integration of genetic testing and data analytics to tailor cancer treatments to individual patients. The use of AI for diagnostic purposes is expected to become more prevalent, enhancing the accuracy of early cancer detection. These technologies aim to increase treatment efficacy and reduce side effects by targeting therapies to the genetic makeup of both the patient and the tumor. Looking into the Mid-Term, the development and implementation of immunotherapies and targeted therapies are expected to evolve rapidly. These treatments, which harness the body's immune system to fight cancer, will likely become more sophisticated, with the introduction of neoantigen vaccines and oncolytic virus therapies. Additionally, the integration of digital health platforms, including telemedicine and remote patient monitoring, will play a critical role in providing continuous care and managing treatment responses more effectively. In the Long-Term, the focus will shift towards the eradication of cancer as a chronic disease, with an emphasis on prevention and cure. Advancements in gene editing technologies, such as CRISPR-Cas9, could potentially enable the correction of genetic mutations before they lead to cancer. Moreover, the convergence of nanotechnology and oncology is expected to revolutionize drug delivery systems, allowing for direct targeting of cancer cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissues. This era will likely witness the culmination of interdisciplinary approaches, combining AI, genetics, and nanotechnology to achieve unprecedented outcomes in cancer treatment and prevention.
